Coffee-Cycle To-go Cup Product Overview

Coffee-Cycle To-go Cup Product Overview

Editor note: Since posting this article the Kickstarter campaign has successfully reached its goal. Meaning no further pledges will be accepted.

Kickstarter allows small companies and genius ideas to finally get some recognition via the judgement of the audience, rather than big-time investors. It is the perfect way to support a small business, and potentially change a person’s life. We’ve been watching projects throughout the crowdfunding website, seeking out the ones we feel can really make a difference. And with that, we present the Coffee-Cycle To-go Cup is designed with the environment in mind and the Kickstarter project that has taken environmentalists by storm. The cup made to reduce our carbon footprint and recycle material we never would have thought to recycle in this fashion.

Coffee-Cycle Product Overview

It is estimated that 500 billion to-go cups are used and discarded every year. With to-go cups generally being made from plastic-coated foam and paper, they are a difficult thing to properly recycle. As a result, TZULAï has sought alternative materials for to-go cups that are better suited for recycling and re-using. The Coffee-Cycle Cup is made using waste coffee grounds mixed with other natural materials. The design was inspired by the fact that from the 2.5 billion cups of coffee consumed worldwide daily, around 500,000 tonnes of coffee ground are discarded.

The coffee grounds used to produce the Coffee-Cycle Cup are collected from local coffee shops and factories. This is done in order to further reduce TZULAï’s carbon footprint. It is about as environmentally friendly as a coffee drinking utensil can get! And with coffee shops continuously looking to improve their carbon footprint with the sale of reusable coffee cups, they would go well to consider stocking the Coffee-Cycle To-go Cup to maximize those efforts.

Developer Details

TZULAï is a small company based in Taiwan. The name ” TZULAï” actually translates to “home”, which just emphasizes the company’s love of culture, tradition, and origin. The company’s main aim is to spread the word of sustainability and help the work to become a more eco-friendly, considerate place. Their hope is that that can be done, in part, with the development of 100% eco-friendly products made from readily available waste. This is done so as to reduce the potential for further waste during the manufacturing process. They are a highly environmentally-conscious company, seeking to minimize the human race’s carbon footprint, one eco-friendly product at a time.

Coffee-Cycle Kickstarter Information

The Coffee-Cycle To-go Cup Kickstarter campaign has blown the original target of £1,432 out of the water! At the moment, it is sitting pretty at £2,955. However, we are not sharing the project to help it reach its goal, we are sharing it because we believe in this product. The more people that back this campaign, the more chance it has of succeeding in the long run. With 67 backers to date and 23 days to go, we expect that when that timer runs out they will easily have surpassed several hundred backers.

Opinions

Every Kickstarter campaign is different, with some truly inventive designs and ideas being put out into the world that have the potential to make a big difference. The Coffee-Cycle cup is no different. We truly believe that this ingenious design has a chance of making a big difference when it comes to the carbon footprint of the portable coffee world. It is a well thought out, methodically designed and meticulously perfected product that we hope to see being used all over the world in the years to come. Maybe if they’re lucky, we’ll start seeing them in Starbucks and Costa coffee shops as one of the reusable alternatives.
